Let’s take a closer look at each technique.
1. Using Reset Buttons
All NordicTrack Treadmill models have a reset button. Your treadmill may also have a reset button. But where is it? Perhaps that’s the first thing to look for.
Find the Reset Button
Many NordicTrack machines have a reset button, as I mentioned earlier. Most treadmill owners struggle to find it. Surprisingly the reset button is located in front of most treadmills. It is located right next to the machine’s power code.
Are you able to locate the button on your NordicTrack? If so, you can move on to the next stage: turning on the treadmill.
Turn on your NordicTrack treadmill
The console is just like any other device. If the equipment is not turned on, it will not work. Before you turn it on:

NordicTrack treadmills don’t work with the GFCI outlet. So, don’t plug your equipment into a GFCI outlet.
After you have done this, locate the on/off switch. Turn it on to turn the treadmill on. Sometimes, you can flip the switch to fix glitches on your treadmill.
You can also unplug the power cord and wait to cool down before plugging it back in. These reset options may not work. If so, move on to the next step.
Insert the Safety Key
Safety is critical when you have pets or children in your home. NordicTrack treadmills can be used safely. They come with a magnetic lock and key. The magnetic keyhole can be found on some NordicTrack models attached to the console. In others, it will be located at the opposite end of your machine. This feature is safe for all users.

How To Reset Your NordicTrack Treadmill Stuck on the iFit Screen
All NordicTrack treadmills with iFit connectivity are equipped with sophisticated software programs and apps. The App may not respond if there is a poor Wi-Fi connection or other technical problems. A factory reset might be an option if iFit stops responding.
How do you approach it? Software bugs could cause the issue. It could also be caused by iFit Wi-Fi connection issues, which can cause the App to load slowly and stream slowly. A factory reset can solve these issues.
This technique is only compatible with recent consoles. This is why it’s essential to verify that this method works for your NordicTrack treadmill.
Go to settings and check the firmware version. You can also look at the console. This process works with most machines that are at least version 7.1. This method is not compatible with HDMI or USB port equipment.
These steps will help you fix your iFit problems on your treadmill.
1. Restart the Machine
Locate the power button, then turn the switch to the off position. After a while, turn the machine back on. This could cause the iFit screen to become unresponsive and stop freezing. If this does not resolve the problem, you can continue with the solutions below.
2. Find the Pinhole
The pinhole can be found on either the back of your console or on one side of your treadmill. You can find it in the manual of your manufacturer.
After you locate the pinhole:
- Insert your paper clip.
- As you press the pinhole, hold it down and insert your paperclip.
- Keep holding the paperclip and let another person flip the switch.
- Once the display on the treadmill lights up, take out the paperclip.
3. “System Recovery: Please Wait..”
The iFit logo will be displayed once the screen lights up. The following sentence will be highlighted in blue: “System recovery: please wait …” You can repeat the above steps if this phrase doesn’t appear.
Wait for approximately 30 minutes if you see the blue text. If the blue text continues to appear for longer than 30 minutes, it is necessary to restart the reset process.
4. Reconnect the Wi-Fi Connection
If the factory reset was successful, you could reconnect the system to the Wi-Fi connection. You will also need to choose your time zone and the measurement unit. The treadmill will automatically update the latest software.
5. Log in to the iFit App
Once the iFit app loads, log in using your username and password. You can now start your new program on the treadmill.

What Happens If My NordicTrack Treadmill Problem Doesn’t Get Fixed?
Sometimes, the problem may not be solved by resetting your treadmill. You may also experience the same issues even after successfully resetting the treadmill. This could be a problem with the hardware. You can fix minor issues yourself if they are not too serious. These steps will help you do that:
Verify the main harness of your machine to determine if there are any loose connections.
If the harness wire is not having any problems, you can switch the red and black wires. Next, check if they are working correctly. These wires are located on the terminal block for incline motors. If one side of an incline motor doesn’t receive enough voltage, the wires will drop.
Use a multimeter to verify that the incline motor receives enough voltage. You should also check the voltage line between the console and motor board with a multimeter.
Workout machines, such as the NordicTrack treadmills and Sole, are complicated equipment. These machines are equipped with many electronic and mechanical components.
Many factors can impact the operation of an incline motor incline. The motor gearbox may become jammed. The motor may also need to be replaced. If the treadmill problem persists, you can troubleshoot it to find the source.
NordicTrack Console Repair
Your NordicTrack treadmill may display error codes. These codes will help you identify the problem. You can easily fix these problems.
These error codes are listed below, and the steps to fix them.
This error code is easy to fix, as it means that the security key is missing. You must make sure the key is securely attached to your console.
When the speed sensors stop working, error code E1 will appear. To resolve this issue, you will need to replace the speed sensors. It should disappear if it does not.
Error E2 can be a bit more complicated than the other error codes. This error code means that your treadmill will not work correctly. It also indicates that your engine is having problems. If you see this error code, it signifies that the engine has problems. I recommend calling an expert.
