Hypervolt Go vs Theragun Mini – Comparison

Hypervolt Go vs Theragun Mini - Comparison (1)

Design and Ergonomics

Theragun massage devices’s unique design is something we have to admire. We have interacted with many percussion therapy massage guns and can confirm that Theragun mini-massage guns design has no equal. The unique shape of the handle and the entire body is a first in the massage gun industry.

We have to admit that we don’t love this design choice. Its ergonomics are the reason. It does not hold as well as Hypervolt Go, which has a more traditional massage gun design.

Hypervolt Go’s ergonomics are far superior to full-sized Hypervolts. Hyperice opted for a 15-degree angle handle instead of the straight 90-degree handle.

It’s not the greatest of Hypervolt’s improvements (we haven’t seen many), but it improves ergonomics. The slanted handle provides a more natural grip, which helps reduce fatigue in the wrists.

To be clear, though, the tilted handle concept isn’t new to the business. This configuration has been used by other brands, even less well-known. The design is a welcome relief for Hypervolt fans.

While that is a good thing, it’s still disappointing that Hyperice chose to use third-party designs, most notably from Ekrin Athletics, instead of creating something unique like Theragun (albeit with mixed results).

Theragun mini-massage guns with a triangular design come in four colors: black, white, and red. Hyperice Go only has black.

Theragun Mini’s unique design and the variety of colors (the desert rose is fantastic) are all great. On the other hand, we prefer Hyperice Go’s ergonomics. The slightly tilted rubberized handle makes it easier to hold.

Let’s begin this comparison by looking at the stroke length, also known as the amplitude. Although it may not seem like much, the difference of 2mm is significant. These 2 mm are what make the Hyperice Hypervolt go vs Theragun mini fundamentally different.

Anything below 12mm will give you a more vibrational, surface-level massage. This helps to relax your muscles and increase blood flow.

If you want a more percussive therapy massage, as you would come with a giant percussive massage gun, you should choose an amplitude of 12mm or higher.

Theragun Mini and Hypervolt Go Amplitude

Stall Force

These compact, lightweight portable massage guns are not as powerful as the larger models. The Hypervolt GO’s stall force is 15.0 lbs and the Theragun mini’s 20.0 lbs, respectively. The stall force lets you release tension in your shoulders after a long day at work or relax your forearms while you play around and increases blood flow.

Percussions & Speed

Hyperice Go easily beats Theragun miniature when it comes to percussion range. A massage can be an intense massage if it receives more hits per minute.

Hyperice took care of this. The Hyperice Go can crank up to 3200 RPM, which is comparable to full-size massage guns. The Raygun mini, on the other side, can only run at 2400 pm.

This is not necessarily a negative thing. We’ve seen that the Theragun┬áMini has a high amplitude to compensate for the smaller number of hits.

This means that the Theragun Mini may hit harder and more often than the Go, but the Hypervolt Go is gentler and more intensive. The vibrational approach of the Hyperice Go can be constructive when you are in need.

This device offers two speeds in terms of adjustable speed (speed gears). To accommodate the extensive range of percussion, we felt that there should have been at least two more gears between them. Theragun mini offers three speeds over 2400 rpm.

The Hypervolt GO and Theragun mini cannot be connected to smartphones, unlike their flagship counterparts. You will need to adjust the device’s frequency and not use the preloaded routines to do this.

If you don’t know how to use your percussion massagers then, then let’s check out our guide:

Both the Hypervolt GO and Theragun mini use similar-sized batteries. Hypervolt Go’s battery has a capacity of 2350mAh and can last for 2 to 2.5 hours (fully charge). The battery of the Theragun mini can also last up to 2 hours.

The time it takes to charge a majority of percussion therapy massage guns will vary depending on the use. The battery will drain faster if you use the device at a higher speed or apply more pressure than usual.

But, it’s still possible to get 2 to 3 hours of useful battery life. After a few days, your device will need to be charged again.

Pro tip: On the flipside, OYeet NEX or Ekrin Bantam massage devices have twice as much capacity as the Both the Mini and Hypervolt Go. They are also lighter and smaller. This is important to remember.

The Hypervolt Go and Theragun mini percussive massage guns do not have USB charging. It’s not easy to charge your device while on the move, and it’s also a common feature with a Theragun mini massager.

It’s a hassle enough to carry a wall charger, let alone the time it takes to charge your device. You can charge your phone using a USB.

We believe none of these massage devices have a detachable battery. On the other hand, it is expected as we have yet to see a Theragun mini-massage gun with a detachable battery.

Theragun device is a good massage gun and enough for physical therapist offices and convenient enough to provide rejuvenating at-home massages in between professional visits.

The Theragun mini-massage gun is very quiet. Both the Hypervolt Go vs Theragun mini-massage guns are very quiet.

They emit between 50dB to 58dB on our dB scale – they are quiet but not completely silent. The sound of the Theragun Mini deep tissue massage gun is more pronounced than that of Hypervolt Go massage guns.

The noise meter measured the Hypervolt Go at 1 to 3 decibels lower in practice and measurement. This award goes to Hypervolt Go for being non-interruptive and smooth.

It is worth noting that both Hypervolt GO vs Theragun mini vibrate quite a bit and transmit vibrations to the handle. This can make it uncomfortable for massages. The Hypervolt Go massage guns are the most problematic. You can also feel the mini massager vibrating a lot.

Accessories Hypervolt Go vs Theragun Mini

We are not happy with the extras offered by either device.

Theragun mini-massage gun is a premium product made by a large company, but only one head comes with it. The universal attachment, the standard ball head, is probably the best option. Why would they include only one attachment when other brands offer 4 or 5?

Minis were created to give existing clients a choice. This means that anyone with full-sized Theraguns can now have a small device to take with them.

They made sure that attachments separately from full-sized Theraguns were compatible with the Mini massage gun. (There is more information on this on their website. As long as you have a fourth-generation Theragun, attachments will fit on the Mini.

This is a great business move, but it seems that it has left out many potential customers who might be interested in purchasing the Mini massage gun.

This includes beginners and first-time users who have never used a massaging gun before. Because it only comes with one attachment, the Mini isn’t a good choice for beginners. They prefer to have 4 to 5 attachments.

Theragun mini is out of the running here. Unless you have Theragun Pro, Theragun Elite vs Theragun Prime with 6, 5, or 4 attachments, you will have to rely only on that one ball attachment. Not great!

Hyperice Go? It’s not the best here. It’s possible it’s not so bad, though, because Hyperice has two attachments for the Hypervolt Go – the bullet attachments and the flat head attachments.

This is an excellent choice because you can use the two heads to treat different muscles. The bullet head treats trigger points and feet, while the flathead works for larger muscle groups. The attachments for the Hypervolts full-sized are compatible with the Go, just like Theragun Mini.

Hyperice Go does not come with a soft case or even a pouch. It will need to be placed in a gym bag that is large enough to hold it.

Although the Theragun Mini percussive massage gun does not come with a soft case to carry everything, they provide a pouch that can hold the device and the charger.

Although it’s lovely that the brands made these devices available to their existing clients, the extras in both devices are disappointing.

The pricing of Hypervolt GO vs Theragun mini is not better for people who have full-sized guns. Mini percussive massage guns are more powerful and less expensive.

Weight and Dimensions

It is not only the final round of this Hyperice go vs Theragun mini matchups, but it is also the most important. The Theragun mini wins both in terms of weight and dimensions. If portability is your primary concern, the Theragun mini is lighter than the Hypervolt Go and certainly smaller.

Pricing and warranty

The Hypervolt GO, Theragun mini, and Theragun mini both cost under $200. The set of attachments for Hypervolt GO is cheaper at $25 per pack. Theragun attachments, on the other hand, are available at the cost of $20 per piece.

If you don’t need all the attachments, the Theragun mini pack is a mobile option. This is a more expensive option than buying a standalone device. On the other hand, you’ll save a few dollars compared to purchasing all the attachments individually.

The Hypervolt Go comes with a 1-year warranty. This covers artistry and material defects. The warranty covers Hypervolt GO vs Theragun mini and the charger for the same period as the Theragun mini. The 30-day warranty does not cover attachments to Theragun.

What are customers saying?

Many people find the Theragun to be more comfortable than the Hypervolt because it’s less loud and easier to hold. The hyper volt can be uncomfortable and heavy for some, and the Theragun feels better in hand.

Some people prefer the Hypervolt Go because it’s a little more potent than the Theragun, but the Theragun Mini is easier to charge. Massages are commonplace for professional athletes like runners, cyclists, and basketball players, but for the rest of us, they’re still a luxury

Other customers prefer the Theragun Mini because it’s more compact and easier to handle than the Hypervolt Go. Neither the Hypervolt Go nor the Theragun Mini has a warranty or customer service.

This means you can only buy it from a third-party seller on Amazon. The Theragun Mini also has a replacement model called the Theragun Ultra, which has higher maximum power and better features for the same price.

The Hypervolt Go and Theragun Mini come with very similar operating instructions. Neither model comes with any warranty or customer service.

Hypervolt GO vs Theragun mini: Conclusion

Hypervolt Go and Theragun Mini, which battery-powered massage gun is better? Well, it’s tough to say because both are excellent options. If you’re looking for a massage gun that is more portable, Theragun is the better option. Still, if you’re looking for a mighty massager with a ton of attachments, Hypervolt is the better massager.
