What’s Included with the Theragun PRO

First Impressions

It’s easy to get started with Theragun PRO. Lift the handle and insert the battery.

Then, attach the attachment you choose to the end.

When I turned it on and held the Theragun Pro in my hands, I realized how it felt more like a power tool than the percussion massagers.

It makes a lot of noise and has a somewhat similar rhythm to a tiny, portable jackhammer.

It’s loud, just like any other jackhammer.

It sounds almost exactly like a power sander or a drill.

I love to talk about the noise that a percussion massager makes when you watch TV. With the Theragun PRO, you would be unable to use it while watching TV (at the very least).

You would still experience difficulty even if your TV were set to very high volumes.

The Theragun Pro is mighty in terms of power.

It was placed on my calves, and I felt it release trigger points I could not work with other massage guns

Although it did cause discomfort, it was an average side effect of using the Theragun Pro on these areas.

I tried the Theragun again, and it was just as good as the calves.

The Theragun PRO was able to locate tightness in areas that I was unable to untie. I could also feel the blood flow being promoted to these areas. It was a pleasant feeling.

Overall, my initial impressions were positive, and I was eager to see how it would go over the next few weeks.

The Design

The Theragun Pro can become quite heavy over time, mainly if used in an area not as easily accessible.

The Theragun PRO seems slightly heavier towards the front. This means that you will need to have some forearm strength to hold it.

Some users might find Theragun PRO a bit heavy.

My point of view was that there wasn’t any real benefit in Theragun Triangle’s ergonomically designed handle or the ability to move it into its four possible positions.

The triangle handle cannot be held on any of the three possible handles. It is too hot to hold the battery-holding one (the one with the logo) because it has heat vents.

Concerning the adjustable arm position, I have never felt the need to adjust it. The default position is the best.

I prefer the traditional massage gun hammer design with one handle because it is more comfortable to hold and evenly balanced.

Overall, however, the design is good, but nothing special gives it an advantage over other massage guns.

Stall Force and Amplitude

Stall Force and Amplitude

The Theragun PRO was designed for deep tissue massage and top-of-the-line percussive therapies. Their body designed this Theragun device to produce repetitive bursts pressure with a 16mm amplitude and a 60lbs force meter without stalling.

The Theragun PRO percussion massagers are a soaring competitor to other brands on the market. The Theragun PRO has one of the best amplitude and stalls force meter combinations of any massage device on the market.

We can confirm that this is 100% true based on our experiences. The Theragun PRO offered an intense massage experience.

We tested the dampener attachment by hand. We could feel the power of the Theragun even without applying much pressure. By simply gliding the gun over the target muscle group, we could feel the penetration deep into our muscles. This would be the Lamborghini in terms of intensity and strength.

However, not everyone loves the Lamborghini. The Theragun PRO handheld massagers might not be the right choice for you if you are looking for gentle and relaxing massages. Some people find intense massages enjoyable and relaxing, while others may find them overwhelming.

The Supersoft attachment head, one of their attachment heads, is softer and gentler for people who prefer lighter massages.

Even with the attachment, the Theragun felt impeccably strong, and those stubborn muscle knots were never going to be able to stop it!

Speed

The Theragun Pro’s maximum PPM (percussions per minute) is 2400. There are five speeds that you can choose from. This means that the device can hit your muscle tissue at a maximum rate of 2400 times per hour.

Although this may seem like a lot, it is not. This may not be the most significant problem. We felt the desired intensity was attained even at the lowest speed (1750) and did not see any reason to increase it.

The speed range starts at 1750 and reaches the limit at 2400. There are five settings. The 5-step customizable speed range is practical but not a great feature.

Rotating Arm and Ergonomic Grip

The unique feature of Theragun PRO’s ergonomic, triangular and well-designed handle is its patent-pending, highly-engineered design.

The grip can be held on either side of the triangle for different angles. It allows you to position the device in a way that will allow you to reach difficult-to-reach areas and reduce strain on your wrist.

The Theragun PRO also has a rotating arm that you can adjust and click to get the right angle and adjustable arm position.

The rotating arm and triangular multi-grip handle are designed to work together to enhance percussive therapy by allowing for different pinpoint muscle treatment angles.

The rotating arm and triangular grip effectively let us massage certain areas, such as the lower back and shoulders.

These areas are often difficult to reach. The Theragun PRO is heavy, however. While the ergonomic grip helped reduce wrist strain, we found it challenging to maneuver the gun through large muscle groups. We also had trouble reaching the back muscles.

The good news is that the gun shouldn’t be held in an inappropriate position for too long. Most experts recommend limiting time to 2 minutes per muscle group. You may want to consider enlisting the assistance of another person for a more relaxing and immersive experience.

Easy To Use Theragun Pro

Easy To Use

You may be wondering about how easy the device was to use. The Theragun PRO is very intuitive to use. However, it might take some trial and error to get the whole thing working. This device is loaded with tons of valuable features.

The brand offers a wealth of information, user manuals, and instructions in digital and physical form to help make the process easier.

When we refer to detail, we mean specific information unique and relevant to various sports, routines, or preferences. You can find all this information on their official website, physical manual, and Therabody app.

They are, in this sense, the complete package. The Theragun PRO has many great features, but the company also goes above and beyond to make sure their customers are fully informed about the best way to maximize the device’s capabilities, accessories, and functions. We love how they care about user experience!

Noise level

The brand produced its brushless motor commercial-grade enhanced with Quietforce technology. According to them, Theragun PRO is 55% quieter than the previous model.

The company was open and honest enough to tell consumers that Theragun PRO still sounds louder than an average massage gun.

We did, however, test the Theragun Pro. We were able to determine that the Theragun PRO was not too loud. However, you wouldn’t be able to binge-watch your favorite TV shows while getting a relaxing massage. The Theragun PRO is not the quietest of the pack. This is due to its power, strength, and durability.

Battery Life

The battery of the Theragun PRO lasts longer than its predecessor. It still comes with two rechargeable batteries, but it can last up to 5 hours (2.5hrs per battery).

This makes it great for charging in clinics or team settings. It is equipped with wireless charging, making it easier to charge. The Theragun PRO will last for between 5-10 minutes before most people feel fully relaxed.

You can use your Theragun Pro without interruption by having a backup battery, wireless charging, and a charger. This is particularly important in professional settings as coaches and trainers will appreciate the extended battery life to continue treating athletes and patients without interruption.

The Therabody app, Bluetooth connectivity

The Therabody app, Bluetooth connectivity

It was a fantasy in the past to have a massage machine connected to your smartphone via an app. But that is no longer the carrying case!

The Therabody app allows Bluetooth-enabled massage guns to connect with Theragun PRO. Once you have downloaded the app, you will be guided through the pairing and setup process. Then you can relax and let the magic happen.

With a simple swipe of your finger, you can control speed and stall force from your phone. Therebody integrates with major health apps like Apple Health and Google Fit to provide real-time information about your daily activities.

We tried the app out and were impressed.

The Therabody app has four tabs. Two of these allow you to select and view massage routines from an extensive library.

You will find many categories that cater to a variety of needs under the explore tab. These include activities like gaming, climbing, yoga, and volleyball.

The “For You” tab lets you connect Therabody with other health apps. This will allow you to receive personalized massage routine suggestions based on your workout routines and daily activities.

You will find a video from Dr. Jason explaining the Theragun Pro benefits and the purpose of each massage routine. When you click the “Start Routine” button, a 3D animated model of your body appears at the top.

Other details, such as the time limit for each area or attachment and grip recommendations, may also be displayed. This was especially helpful for novice users who might not know where to start.

Although the app isn’t perfect, the attention to detail is admirable. The intelligent app integration function is an excellent addition to the user experience.

It also adds a lot to the sophisticated, high-tech feel of Theragun PRO. The app is also an excellent, engaging, simple, and convenient way for users to maximize Theragun’s capabilities and functions.

Attachments

Six different attachment heads for attachment heads are included in the package:

Supersoft (Impact Level: 1/10) – This one is for those who like gentler and lighter massages. This attachment is also better suited to sensitive areas or sore areas.

Dampener (Impact Level: 3/10) – The default attachment head is ideal for general use.

Standard ball (Impact Level: 5/10) – Another attachment that can be used for general use is more intense than the dampener.

Wedge (Impact Level: 5/10) – The brand states that this is good for the shoulder area and scrapping movements to loosen tight muscles and increase blood flow.

Thumb (Impact Level: 7/10) – This brand recommends this product for the lower back.

Cone (Impact Level: 10/10) Warning: This attachment head should not be used by the weak. The Theragun PRO provides intense massage therapy. This attachment is paired with it.

Each attachment serves a different purpose, and it isn’t easy to choose which one is our favorite. Everyone has different preferences. As the old saying goes, “One man’s meat may be another man’s poison!”

Durability

The Theragun PRO has only been in our possession for a month. This means that we may not be able to assess its durability or wearability.

The Theragun PRO percussive therapy massage gun looks sturdy and high-quality, so it should last a long time. However, time will reveal.

Warranty

This package comes with a 2-year warranty. Most brands offer a 1-year warranty.

How does Theragun PRO feel on your back?

We don’t just want to review the Theragun PRO’s power but include descriptions for various body parts.

Back: The Theragun Pro is lighter than the old model. This makes it easier to treat traps without feeling sore. The back is where a partner can be constructive, but the adjustable shaft and lighter weight will still allow you to get the job done.

The Theragun PRO will help you relax your upper back muscles and take out the toughest knots.

PRO Tip: Use the cone attachment to tackle the most complex knots.

Legs: The Theragun PRO is an excellent choice for those with poor circulation or sore legs. Self-treatment is easy. Self-treatment is easy.

You can quickly refresh your feet and calves or go deep into your quads and hamstrings to restore your entire body.

PRO TIP: Use the round ball to treat your legs, and switch to the thumb attachment to treat deeper knots. The SUPERSOFT attachment is excellent for your shins.

Front Shoulders, Forearms, Supersoft Attachment: This attachment is great for your smaller muscle groups and works well on the forearms as well as the front deltoids. These areas also benefited from the wedge and damper attachment heads.

Temples, Headaches, and Nape of Neck: I have never recommended using a handheld massager for your temples. But the SUPERSOFT attachment makes it possible.

It provides instant relief from tension headaches, muscle soreness, migraines, or muscle recovery. Anyone who suffers from these symptoms should try this solution.

Who is it for

Who is it for?

Based on our experience, the Theragun Pro is an excellent choice for anyone who loves massages and uses it often or almost daily. The Theragun PRO is expensive, so it may not be worth the investment if you only use it once a week.

We recommend Theragun PRO to massage professionals and anyone interested in improving the client’s experience. Other reviews have indicated that massage therapists consider the Theragun Pro one of their most valuable investments. They said that the Theragun PRO had reduced manual labor and improved their client’s experience.

The third is that the Theragun Pro is an excellent tool for athletes, as it can be used to warm up before and after workouts.

Although it is not guaranteed to relieve muscle soreness and back pain, it can help. Based on our experience and user reviews, the Theragun Pro has done a decent job relieving muscle pain, aches, and soreness after training.

It stands out among all other percussion massage guns that are often plain black percussion massage guns, grey, or silver.

The unique ergonomic design and angle of the handle make it easy to grasp to reach all parts. You can grasp the lower handle for maximum reach, the upper handle for precision and power grip, and the handle and tower for a powerful, deep massage grip.

It feels premium and durable. This product is not cheap plastic. It is sturdy, durable, and yet it is easy to use. This handheld massager should be able to reach any part of your body.

Hyperice Hypervolt GO

Hyperice Hypervolt GO

  • Weight: 1.5 lbs
  • Battery life: 2.5 hours
  • Motor: Brushless high-torque 40W motor
  • Size: 5.5 x 5.5 x 2 in
  • Speed: 3 speeds of percussion
  • TSA approved: Approved by TSA for carry-on

The Go percussion massager appears smaller than the regular-sized Hypervolts, but we estimate it to be about 30% smaller than that large device. Although it’s not the most miniature mini- percussive massage gun on the market, Hyperice could have reduced the size.

It’s still a very standard size and shape. Although it’s not very innovative, it still looks great.

The body is made of matte plastic, not metal. The only color available is black. Given Hyperice’s renowned reputation, we would have loved to see a Hyperice color variant. Although it’s not a significant thing, it elevates things to a whole new level.

It is a simple device, as we’ve come to expect from mini percussion massage guns. The only thing to be noted is the ring-shaped LED indicator at the handle’s bottom that we associate with Hyperice massage guns.

The speed LED indicators located underneath the handle, just around the charging port, are another embellishment. It’s a strange place to keep them, but they are unnecessary as there are only three-speed gears you can hear and feel while using the device.

Hold the power button down for 2 seconds to turn on/off the device. It is worth noting that the power button is located right next to the device’s ergonomic handle. Feels like an actual gun trigger. You can change the speed by pressing the power button quickly.

We don’t think the charger is very convenient. It’s a regular wall charger. We noticed that Hyperice Go percussion massager had three adapters to suit international clients.

Hyperice Go massage guns also included several brochures, similar to a card, with every device. The brochures included information about the app, how to choose the appropriate attachment, instructions on how to use it, and customer service information.

Hyperice Hypervolt Plus Massage Gun

Hyperice Hypervolt Plus Massage Gun

  • Stall Force: ~45 lbs (our estimation)
  • Stroke Length: 14 mm
  • Percussion range: 1800 – 3200 ppm (percussions per minute)
  • Speed settings: three different speeds
  • Attachments: 5 included
  • Weight: 3 lbs
  • Dimensions: 9.34 x 6.5 x 2.5 inches
  • Noise level (decibel): 62-69 dB
  • Battery Life / Capacity: 2 hours (2400 mAh)
  • Bluetooth: Yes

It is almost identical to the original device. The only thing that appears to have been altered is the top-silver casing. It is now black. It seems that everything else is the same.

The T-shape design and straight handle are all there. Given the age of this device, it’s incredible that no other details have been changed to improve things.

We mentioned in our Hypervolt plus review that the T-shape design is the most popular in the industry. Hyperice handheld massager hasn’t done anything to address this issue (or we aren’t aware).

We consider Theragun to be a rival to Hyperice, given the current state of Hyperice. They have patented their triangular design to combat copycats.

Even recently, they successfully removed similar-looking massage guns from the market by filing a lawsuit. Kraftgun gun and Lifepro Sonic are two examples.

We still believe Hyperice percussion massager has enough time to come up with something more than we’ve seen in a while. It’s becoming a bit boring!

In our Hypervolt Vs Theragun post, we highlighted how Theragun could release four generations since 2016. This includes two significant changes that took place between 2019 and 2020.

Hyperice might not be interested in changing the winning formula. It’s understandable in some ways, but we could not see how other brands are being creative with their products.

We still love the high-quality build quality and rubberized firm handles. It’s also available in matte plastic or black. This one is sleeker than the original, but we are just speculating. It is easy to use, with no additional features – there are no OLED screen or LCD screens.

Theragun Pro Reviews: Conclusion

With all the unique features and benefits that the Theragun pro massage gun offers, it is easy to see why Amazon’s Choice has chosen this product. Theragun’s pro massage gun is a great way to relax and unwind after a hard day of work, and it makes a beautiful gift.

We hope that our review can help you learn more about this device. It is seen as the very amazing massage gun on the market in 2021. And don’t forget to follow our Theragun Pro vs Hypervolt Plus coming soon.
